I'd happily give up everything I have or could ever have to just be me. I've never once in my life ever feel like a man. I'm on HRT decades now as well as see a gynecologist twice yearly for checkups myself. Was offered the surgery back in the 80's, by one Dr Richard Murray Youngstown Ohio area and passed on it, hoping the surgery would get better. Being young one thinks differently. Like I thought I'd have my whole life to get back to being me. Just never in my wildest dreams think it will take my whole life. The pain and sorrows I've experienced cannot even be explained in words.
You are not alone in this. Hopefully cultural changes will make it easier for gender variant people to find out who they really are at an earlier point in life.
